CURRICULUM

EARLY YEARS

Our Early Years Curriculum (18 months to 3 years)

Our curriculum for playgroup and Nursery 1 children is guided by ECDA's Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) and is defined by caregiving, play and other daily routines for physical care, building relationships, learning and developmental experiences. It is everything that happens from the time the child is greeted on arrival to the goodbyes at departure.

Our intentional curriculum includes the following:

  • Caregiving routines

  • Communication and language development

  • Cognitive development: early numeracy and problem-solving

  • Play as learning

  • Aesthetics experiences

  • Indoor and outdoor experiences

  • Access to resources and materials

  • Safety and health

KINDERGARTEN

Our Kindergarten Curriculum (4 years to 6 years)

  2. Discovery of the World (DOW)

  3. Language and Literacy (L&L)^

  4. Motor Skills Development (MSD)

  5. Numeracy (NUM) and

  6. Social and Emotional Development (SED)

as well as six learning dispositions:

  1. Perseverance

  2. Reflectiveness

  3. Appreciation

  4. Inventiveness

  5. Sense of wonder and curiosity and

  6. Engagement

It highlights iTeach principles beginning with integrated approach to learning which is facilitated by the Teacher engaging children in authentic learning through purposeful play and quality interactions, allowing children to construct their own knowledge and to move towards holistic development.

^We adopt English as our main language of instruction, with Mandarin/Malay offered as Mother Tongue.
